Steve Dunmire is originally from Buffalo, NY, and became Lead Pastor of Victory in 2022. Prior to
coming to Victory, he served in urban, suburban, and rural churches in the Buffalo-Niagara region,
spent seven years in Christian higher education at Houghton College, and served as Assistant
Superintendent of the WNY District of The Wesleyan Church. Steve is a graduate of Houghton College
(B.S.), Northeastern Seminary (M.Div.), and Asbury Theological Seminary (D.Min.).
Steve and his wife Tammy have four children. In his free time, he enjoys time with his family,
playing acoustic guitar, the outdoors, reading, Bills games, Sabres games, and date nights with
Tammy.
Vaughn served in youth ministry with Family Life Ministries starting in 1980 and transitioned to
Victory in 2000 to work as our Worship Arts Pastor. In 2017, Vaughn transitioned into his current
role as Victory's Spiritual Formation Pastor.
Vaughn and his wife, Joyce, have two married sons and five grandchildren. In his spare time, Vaughn
enjoys archery hunting, fly fishing, landscaping, gardening, and spending time with his family. Most
of his lunch hours are spent at the YMCA fighting fat and old age.
Aaron is a husband to Chera, father to Harper, and follower of Jesus. He graduated from Indiana
Wesleyan University, where he majored in Philosophy. He went on to earn an MA in Entrepreneurial
Ministry Leadership from Tabor College.
Aaron enjoys biking with his family, reading, running, and watching college sports. He is passionate
about chocolate chip cookies. He hates meatloaf, plastic fruit, and meetings. Aaron thinks nothing
is more exciting than living as a disciple of Jesus.
Margie married the love of her life, David Weber, in 2013. Together, they have a blended family with
four kids.
She has been involved in ministry her whole life, including serving in VictoryKids and The Healing
Journey groups. Her life experience and love for Jesus fuel her desire to help those who are hurting
and feeling excluded to find a safe community of real, relateble people who embrace the struggle to
follow Christ in a broken world together.
Margie enjoys time with family and friends, Bible teaching, photography, cake decorating, dancing,
and writing.
Brady and Sydney Bond are originally from the surrounding Corning, NY area. They met at Victory's Student Ministries and both went on to become graduates of Kingswood University (B.A.). They joined Victory's Staff in 2018. Brady is passionate about worship, evangelism, equipping the local church and serving as one of the Elmira Campus pastors along with Sydney. Sydney's passions include teaching, discipleship and investing in students as she also serves as one of Victory's Student Ministry pastors. In their free time you might find them spending time with their families and friends and enjoying a cup of coffee. On a Sunday morning you might find them greeting you at the entrance, preaching the message, or on the worship team!
Dylan is passionate to see the next generation to step into the Kingdom of God through impactful
catalysts that root them into the Body of Christ. He is passionate about facilitating those
impactful catalysts, whether it's through communicating a message to students on a Sunday or having
a one-on-one conversation over coffee.
Dylan graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2017 with a Bachelor's in Christian Ministries.
He grew up in Indiana, the land of corn, before moving to Delaware, where he met his wife, Kirsten.
They have four beautiful cats together. Dylan loves coffee, video games, hiking, weight lifting, and
living life in community with others.
Ted has lived in the area since 1999. He came onto the Victory staff in 2001. His service to God and
the church includes teaching, counseling, visitation, funerals, and weddings. Ted has served for
over 60 years in ministry to the Wesleyan Church. His many roles have included Pastor, Army
Chaplain, and Dean of Students.
Ted married Emily in 2009, and they have two daughters, a son, three grandchildren, and five
great-grandchildren.
In his free time, Ted enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, reading, and sailing.
Tom worked for Corning, Inc. as well as Dresser-Rand before joining the Victory team in 2017. He has
a Bachelors of Science and a Certified Energy Manager certification. His diverse roles an an
engineer, business consultant, and project leader have allowed him to flourish as Victory's
Facilities Manager.
Tom is married to Marcy and has two adult children.
Marcy and her husband, Tom, moved from West Virginia to Kentucky and Arizona before settling in New
York in 2000.
For several years, Marcy worked as a stay at home mom with her two children, Melanie and Thomas.
She rejoined the workforce and served at Corning Christian Academy as their Accounting and
Operations Manager before moving to Schuyler Head Start to work as their Chief Financial Officer. In
2012 she landed her dream job at Victory.
Gary has been a Christ follower since he was six years old, but spent time away from the Lord after
his father passed in 1984. In 1990, his future wife, Candace, brought him into the Victory family,
and his life was changed forever.
God healed Gary of cancer in 2002, at which point he committed himself to full-time ministry. Gary
feels very blessed to serve Jesus, and he looks forward to continuing in ministry for the rest of
his days on Earth.
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no
one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. - Ecclesiastes 3:11
Pete discovered Victory in 1999 with his family, and they loved it. Pete has been a Pastor at
Victory since 2011 and helps men live in the freedom God intended for them. He is passionate about
discipleship and recovery ministry.
Pete’s former employment included serving in the U.S. Army and law enforcement before working for
the U.S .Postal Service and completing a 30 year career.
Pete and his wife Maureen married in 1982. They live in Corning and have four grown children and
seven grandchildren. Pete loves reading and driving across the U.S. to see his family.
Carol graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Leadership and Ministry from Ohio Christian
University. She has been an assistant pastor here at Victory since 2018, and most recently ordained
in 2022. She has written many devotionals with some being published in her book, “Grace Like
Chocolate Syrup: Good Over Everything”.
Carol and her husband, Kip, married in 1981 and they began their Victory journey in 2013. Carol
fills many teaching roles at Victory, including co-leading the Legacy Builders group!
In her spare time, she enjoys writing, making up new words, growing things, being used in the
process God uses in growing people for Jesus, photography, and all 5 of her grandchildren!
David is the husband of Margie Weber and proud father of a blended family of four children. He
graduated from Houghton College with a B.A. in English Literature; from Syracuse University with a
M.S. in School Psychology; and, from Syracuse University College of Law with a J.D.
Currently, David practices law in New York as a solo practitioner. He also serves as a Ministerial
Student within the Wesleyan Church.
David spends as much time as he can with his family and friends. He is a lifelong learner and tries
to improve himself and the world around him through his education and experience.
Josh serves as the Young Adults & Communications Pastor at Victory. He is originally from Pennsylvania but most
recently moved here from Buffalo. He holds degrees in Biblical Studies (B.S.) and Christian Ministry
(A.S.) from Indiana Wesleyan University.
Josh is passionate about discipling and developing leaders, especially those of younger generations.
He is also an advocate for mental health awareness. His hobbies include board games, hiking,
reading, and spending time with family and friends. He is an avid Steelers fan.
Shaun grew up locally, and attended Victory Student Ministries through middle and high school before
heading to Kingswood University in New Brunswick, Canada to study pastoral ministry (B.A.). After
graduating and marrying his wife Morgan in the same weekend, he joined staff at Kingswood as an
admissions counselor and continued his studies in pastoral theology (M.A.).
In his free time, you can find Shaun nerding out over a new book or board game, making music with
his friends, and trying to convince Morgan that his books and board games are cool.
Vikki began her career in administrative work at Corning Incorporated where she worked for eight
years prior to starting her family. After being a stay-at-home mom and volunteering at the Christian
Learning Center for ten years, she joined the Victory staff in 1998.
Vikki served as an Administrative Assistant to Pastor Paul Piraino for over twenty-three years. She
presently assists Pastor Vaughn VanSkiver in Spiritual Formation.
Brad is passionate about leading others into an authentic experience with Jesus. He loves to explore
his creative gifting within the realm of church music and technology.
Brad is a graduate of Kingswood University, and is our resident Canadian. He loves seeking
adventures with his son, Carter, and anything car related.
Joe is originally from Horseheads, New York. He graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Electrical
Engineering from Wilkes University in 1988. Joe teaches at Corning Community College as a Computer
Science Professor and has served on Victory's Tech Team for about 15 years.
Joe has two wonderful daughters. He is passionate about veganism and environmentalism. He also
enjoys hiking, gardening, and cooking.
Shane grew up in Sugar Grove, Pennsylvania touring the country with his family band, ‘The Stuart Family’. He met his wife, Brittany, in 7th grade and the two were best friends ever since. They were married in December of 2008. Since graduating from Bloomsburg University, Shane has been a Worship Pastor at different churches over the past 13 years, an Audio Engineer and Production Manager for BNY Productions out of Sioux City Iowa, and a founding member of the band, ‘Good Little Giants’, touring the country for the past 8 years. Shane loves hunting, motorcycles, sushi, and the Buffalo Bills!
Matt has been a lay volunteer at Victory for 35+ years serving in a number of capacities before
retiring from Corning Inc in 2021 and joining Victory's staff with responsibility for missions
(REACH) and community groups.
Matt and his wife, Sue, have two married sons and one granddaughter. Matt enjoys many outdoor
activities, such as hiking, kayaking, and travel, but can also be found enjoying time at home with
Sue, solving a tough crossword puzzle or savoring a good book about history. Matt's passion is to
see people live beyond themselves allowing Jesus to transform them through the Bible, the body of
Christ and our calling to reach the world.
Sue and her husband, Matt, have been involved in multiple areas of ministry since they moved to the
area in 1986 and made Victory their church home after the first visit. Sue loves being outside and
especially enjoys cycling, gardening, walking with friends and travelling to spend time with their
married sons and granddaughter.
With an administrative work background and previous experience as Victory’s Missions Coordinator,
Sue is delighted to be on staff as the Ministry Assistant to the Lead Pastor and Victory's REACH
ministry.
Melissa and her husband, Scott have been married since August of 2006. They have one son, Caleb.
They have had eight foster sons.
They have been attending Victory for many years. Melissa started working for Victory a few years ago
in the nursery and Victory's Special Needs Ministry (known as J.O.Y.). Melissa recently expanded her
horizon to include Victory's preschool ministry we call BigHouse. She has a degree in Early
Childhood Education, so when God gave her the chance to teach children about being a devoted
follower of Jesus, she followed his lead.
She really enjoys family time, camping, picnicking, shopping, helping others, and traveling.
Rachel is the Operations Assistant to Tom and Marcy Meighan. She has an angel in Heaven, Madelyn,
and two earthly daughters, Emily and Marlayna. She joined Victory's staff after being home with her
girls for 8 years. Prior to that, Rachel spent over a decade in various procurement roles for large
corporations. She currently also has a side gig grating cheese.
Rachel holds tight to the Lord's promise and provision in 2 Cor 1: 3-4: "...the Father of Compassion
and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any
trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God."
She enjoys being with her family and friends, playing with her yellow lab, Zoey, playing board games
and practical jokes, and belting tunes alone in her car. She loves laughing and finding Blessings in
difficult situations.
Liz grew up at Victory and has volunteered in the Tech Department for over 10 years. She enjoys editing videos and learning new things about technology. When she isn’t working, she also enjoys fishing and spending time with her husky, Sasha.
Jody is originally from Michigan. She graduated from Kingswood University (Sussex, New Brunswick, Canada) in 2020 with a degree in Worship Arts and has interned in both the Youth and Worship/Creative Arts departments. She is passionate about worship, developing future generations and plans to continue serving in these capacities where ever the Lord takes her!
TJ grew up in a military family and has lived all over the country, although he calls Virginia, home. He graduated in May 2020 from Liberty University with a degree in Digital Media: Audio. He has a passion for worship tech as well as film. TJ has two adorable pups, Molly and Wyatt. In his free time he is an avid gamer, but he also loves to read and go to firing ranges.
Ron has attended Victory for over 36 years and during that time spent numerous years serving on the
Victory’s Board as well as a Trustee. Additionally, he enjoyed several years as a volunteer in
Student Ministries and was involved with Men’s ministries, coordinating activities with Promise
Keepers.
Ron and his wife, Deb, have a son and daughter both married with a young granddaughter and a
grandson expected to arrive in January 2022. Most of their time is spent operating Keuka Lakeside
Inn located in Hammondsport and traveling to see their family.
Victory has provided a strong foundation for he and his family through the years and his desire is
for this church to continue being a beacon in the region and to reach those that are lost by
continuing to offer relevant teaching and ministries with a solid gospel message.
Dwight is married to his wife, Ginger, and has been blessed with two adult children and five grandchildren. Dwight has been a part of Victory for fifty years, beginning when the church was Riverside Wesleyan, and has served as a home group co-leader, information desk, usher, building committee member and as a trustee. Dwight enjoys doing woodworking and reading various types of books. Two of my favorite verses are Phil.4:13 and Isaiah 40:31. He desires that God continues to bless our Church as we seek him, listen to Him, and do His will.
Meghan has attended Victory Highway Church since 2009. She and her husband have two children. Meghan has served in many different areas of the church, including children and student ministries. She has been on mission trips, taught classes, and led teen and adult small groups. She enjoys cooking, camping, and spending time with her family. Meghan’s passion is for people to accept the gift of God’s grace and experience the life-changing power of Jesus.
Todd has attended Victory for the past 26+ years with his wife Vanessa. They have served together in
Children’s ministries for most of that time. Todd has also served on Victory’s Local Board of
Administration for ~20 years, as well as, participating in several Victory productions. His four
sons grew up attending Victory as did he when it was known as Riverside Wesleyan Church. Blessed
with a growing family, the Carrs delight in their three daughter-in-laws and their first grandson.
During the week, Todd teaches middle and high school Art at Avoca Central School. Teaching - using
drama, visuals, singing and creativity, to help people emotionally connect with the truth of the
gospel - draws Todd closer to God, and brings joy. Todd marvels at, seeks to understand and share
the gregarious winsome nature of Christ, the charisma and discernment that Jesus embodied, the way
people flocked to him to experience his miracles, healing, teaching, and perfect love.
Todd takes seriously the call to “…Always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you to
give the reason for the hope that you have….” 1 Peter 3:15
Andy grew up here in the Finger Lakes region outside of Canandaigua. He and his wife, Kelly, have
been married for over thirty years and have three children, Eli and Annie, twins at Liberty
University and Jane, who is in high school. Our family started serving by pulling weeds out front at
Victory which grew into a garden/landscaping ministry with great fellowship. Andy has also served
alongside Kelly while she led Children's Ministry and has also served as small group leader in
Student Ministries, served to support church events and just doing whatever is needed in the church.
Currently, Andy serves on Victory’s Board as well as in the Creative Arts team as a sound technician
in the main sanctuary. Luke 16:10 is a favorite verse “whoever can be trusted with very little can
be trusted with much…”
Andy graduated with an MBA from University of Rochester Simon School of business and is currently
CFO for Cameron Manufacturing & Design in Horseheads. Andy enjoys time with his family, hiking,
golfing and relaxing doing puzzles during the winter.
Rick is married to his wife, Cindy, and has 5 children along with 5 grandchildren. He has served in a variety of capacities at Victory as well as other churches. At Elmira Wesleyan (now Victory – Elmira Campus), he and Cindy served as ministry leaders for Celebrate Recovery Leader and has also served the Lord as a Video Tech, Youth Leader, Pastor and Youth Pastor in other churches. Rick loves to play the piano/keyboards as well as enjoys cooking and gardening. His life verse is Rom 8:28 believing that God indeed “works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
Shawn grew up in northern Maine. He met his wife, Christina, while they were students at Indiana
Wesleyan University. They have two children, Lucas & Anna. After graduating from law school, Shawn
was a municipal attorney for 13 years before God led in a different direction. Shawn is now a
Financial Advisor with the Davies Investment Group of Benjamin F Edwards. Outside of work, he can be
found at his children's sporting events, serving on his local school board, or rooting on his
favorite sports teams, the Red Sox, Patriots, and the Liverpool Football Club.
Shawn has served on the Finance Committee since 2013 and is currently in his second year as
Victory's Treasurer.
Shawn's favorite verse is Proverbs 3:5-6 because it reminds us of the true source of wisdom.
Originally from the Boston area, Ann has faithfully attended Victory with her husband, Steve, since
moving to Corning in 1992 with their children. She co-founded the first Children’s Ministries Team
and has served at the church in a variety of ways throughout the years, including Building Team
member, women’s ministry and iServe. Currently, she is a leader of a community group and the Victory
Prayer Group. She also invests considerable time each week volunteering with Corning Community Food
Pantry, where she is a board member. One of her daughters is a missionary in West Africa, while her
two other children and son-in-law live and work locally. For health and relaxation, Ann enjoys
swimming and gardening, as well as walking with family and friends.
One of Ann’s desires for Victory is that each of us recognizes that we are uniquely designed for a
specific purpose, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God
prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10
Dana and his wife, Amy, have three children, two that are in college and the other in 4th grade.
Dana and his family have been coming to Victory for 20+ years. He has been a volunteer serving in a
number of capacities during this time; in children and student ministries, helping his wife
facilitate marriage and parenting adult Sunday school classes, missions trip, and serving as a
greeter/usher on Sunday mornings.
Dana has many hobbies, such as exercising/running, hunting, boating, and spending time and doing
projects with his family around their home. Dana's passion is to help Victory reach the lost locally
and globally. His favorite verse is Philippians 4:13 “I can do all this through Christ who gives me
strength.”
Originally from rural Missouri, Andrew moved to this area in 2011 to work for Cargill, Inc. Andrew married his college sweetheart, Abby, in 2010 and they have 4 beautiful children. Andrew has served @ Victory by leading pre-marriage classes, volunteering in children’s ministry and has led Healing Journey classes. Andrew loves enjoying God’s creation in the great outdoors and has a passion for seeing the miracle working power of Jesus in the lives of the broken as He did in his own life!
Maggie is married to her high school sweetheart Cameron, and they have been coming to Victory for over ten years! Together they have two tiny pups and are expecting their first child in spring 2022. They are passionate about prayer, doing life together with their community group, and serving the local church. Maggie has a heart for students and empowering people to grow their faith beyond just Sunday mornings.
Alex is originally from Colorado, but moved to Rochester, NY in January of 2013. In March of 2020, he married his wife Megan and moved to Painted Post, NY. He graduated from Roberts Wesleyan College in June of 2020 with his Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and Religion, and is pursuing his dream to become a Children’s Ministry Pastor. He has been faithfully serving in Children’s Ministry for 7 years, 4 of which have been at Victory. He is currently a Ministerial Student through Kingswood University Extended, and faithfully volunteers as a Word Host teaching the truths of the Bible to Grade School kids in PowerHouse. Alex loves to read, run marathons, hang out with his friends, and visit his family in Nebraska.
Makenna grew up going to Victory Highway Wesleyan Church, and has lived in the area most of her life. She graduated from Houghton College in May of 2022, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theology, a Minor in Bible, and a Concentration in Youth Ministry. She has a heart for working with youth, and hopes to do so vocationally. She loves music, and worshipping God in fresh, creative ways.
Tim worked for Dresser-Rand for 45 years before retiring but was then called back as a consultant for a brief time. He has been serving as one of Victory’s custodians since February of 2017. You will see him through the week and on Sunday mornings with a smile keeping the building clean and tidy.
JR was born and raised in Hammondsport, NY and began serving at Victory in Student Ministries as a
Worship Team member, audio engineer, and urban missions team leader on numerous trips to NYC and
Washington DC with VSM. He then began serving as an audio engineer in the sanctuary on a regular
basis. He was hired in 2020 as the Lead Sound Technician on the Creative Arts team with primary
responsibility for the audio mix for our online services.
JR and his wife, Jill, live in Savona, NY where they raised their blended family of 5 children. JR
enjoys any time he can spend with his family (especially family breakfast!), camping, playing the
drums, and riding his motorcycles.
Fuller has attended Victory Highway Wesleyan Church for many years now and has served in a few different areas. He has a Bachelors Degree in Christian Counseling from Kingswood University and plans to be a Marriage and Family Counselor in the future.
